Spotted in Djerba - 2. Vintage?

The glass looks a bit old and there are some signs of enamelling. Re-gilded perhaps?

  • This should be regarded as a later and somewhat diminished version.

The gilding is somewhat suspect, either bold or redone as you said, but it is the presence of the coins which are perhaps odd but for sure a hint to a later production. If it is the case then they should be very light and thin comparable to mere pellets.

The cabs are interesting though and miht have been reemployed from a old piece, at least most of them!

Patti should recognize an old favourite; Tanit pattern again throning on top  just after the hooks, but this time with the addition of a very prolific belly, be it children or wealth!

IMHO and from the picture, i feel that the coins are not genuine and rather copies of ottoman era gold coins
