the ring especially is beautiful. i love the combination of the deep warm red with cool shiny silver. do you wear it?
I certainly do, howah! I wear it all. For me ethnic jewelry is not for hiding away. Even if I were a man I would wear what I could. Otherwise I`d use it as interior decoration.
What do you do with yours which, as you know, I`m very envious of? In an enjoyable way.
hi, as a man i am not wearing much jewellery, though sometimes i wear bracelets made of natural stones and wear a cord with a pendant around my neck. i view the jewellery i collect as ethnic art objects rather than regular bodily adornment so i hang them up on the wall or put them on shelves for me and others to admire. i'm thinking about buying a large standing show cabinet to put them inside since at the moment i just keep most of it hidden away in boxes. seeing all the nice photos the other members are posting here, makes me want to go china asap and do some serious shopping!
The cabinet`s a great idea. Then you can look at it and enjoy it so much more easily. I think you`re the man to organise tours in China for us!
yes please for the trip to China....
haha..you all are welcome to join me when i go to china. there is still some bargains to be had there, but just strolling around at the (antique) markets in a.o. beijing, chengdu and in the minority regions is already a feast for the senses. just hope we don't get into a fight over the same pieces when we go shopping together!
Fantastic! I`m already excited. When I was in China before - Beijing, Shanghai, Sushou and Wushi (sorry about spelling, I know it`s not right) I did not have the ethnic jewellery interest. So apart from what I saw in museums, I didn`t see anything. Could you warn us in advance of your next trip? Also, maybe we need advice on where to stay at reasonable cost.
Definitely no fighting allowed!
