  • Mata Hari
  • Mata Hari was originally a Dutch woman, who became an exotic dancer, courtesan, and spy - in short, a seedy sort of individual, Her wearing the bra we see here does say something about her, but nothing about the bra-like part of an Islamic headdress that Peter has posted. The association is almost inevitable in the western way of looking at the world, but is ultimately coincidental. Maybe that is the interesting point you are making?

  • I am very sorry if I have caused offence, that was not my intention. I saw two different images, of two different pieces, in different situations that look similar upon first glance. A coincidence that they were posted within the same week, and the similarity struck me I suppose because Peter's headdress was not being worn.
  • No offence taken, Charlotte! As I said in my last sentence, I suspected that you were establishing the very point which you have now made more explicitly!
