Fantastic buckle, of a type I have not seen before. I love the looping filigree background underneath the bosses, it puts me in mind of spiderwebs or barren tree branches.

BTW, this buckle is absolutely gorgeous - the filigree work looks like the vines of some plant creeping up between the domes. You can almost see them grow. A kind of "Sleeping Beauty" jewel.
