ID assistance please!

I am trying to assist a friend with ID for this bead. It has several types of workmanship that could put it across North Africa to Central Asia. I don't feel that it is from India though.... Thoughts?

    2506035172?profile=originalYes, I also think this comes from northern Afghanistan but my guess would be a different community .. I think it may have come from the northern Tajiks. I will post a photo of an earring from Janata ... unfortunately not very clear. Notice the curved cross hatching of the silver on the dome of the earring and also the way the lines between different sections are decorated by being punched with a sharp instrument to make a line of dots. There is a marked similarity between the two pieces.

    A really wonderful and early piece - nicely used as well as very "naturally" and "humanely" made. Most appealing and great to see it so exactly identified.
