Yes, I also think this comes from northern Afghanistan but my guess would be a different community .. I think it may have come from the northern Tajiks. I will post a photo of an earring from Janata ... unfortunately not very clear. Notice the curved cross hatching of the silver on the dome of the earring and also the way the lines between different sections are decorated by being punched with a sharp instrument to make a line of dots. There is a marked similarity between the two pieces.
