  • Purchased from Alaa Abdou in Cairo, who had a very well-organized collection of pairs of silver bracelet.

    The hallmarks (below) indicate that these were assayed in Cairo and are 800 grade silver. They are from between 1942-44.

  • Very cool. I like the end pieces of these bracelets -- they remind me a little of some tuareg pieces and a lot of the multi faceted silver beads you can buy in Morocco -- lots of exchanges in design throughout the continent.
