  • Frankie-I have a necklace on my page that has similar side pendants and bottom one as well. Take a look.

  • Yesss! I`ve seen it, Toya - lovely! I`m glad I wasn`t the only one foxed by it. If only I could remember where I`ve seen those little blue faience beads before.......

And I know I`ve seen that type of pendant. Not Egyptian, I think.

  • The beads in the silver danglers look a lot like the Iranian paste donkey beads. I love the sky blue color of them.donkeybeads10.jpg

  • Thanks, Patti. They`re not unlike the donkey beads but are actually more turquoise than sky blue to look at. And I know I`ve seen them with those little holes poked in them.......

Anyway, it`s a line to follow.

The third bead from the right on the pendant looks Afghan to me.

  • I have seen the blue faience with holes poked through on Kuchi pendants from Pakistan. Tribal muse and Red Camel have some examples.

  • The website Bedouin Silver shows an example and says they can be from Syria, Jordan and Palestine.

  • THAT`S it! I have the book Bedouin Silver and have found the relevant photo on the website. 2506000449?profile=originalThat`s where I`ve seen the blue faience Lochscheibe beads. Thanks so much - I`ll sleep more peacefully now!

I`m very much leaning to Syria for both our necklaces, Toya. especially after Hillary`s input.

  • Frankie-I hope we solve the mystery of origin for both of our necklaces. I'll keep hunting for more evidence. What fun!
