This image (painting) is from a 1926 publication and the caption reads: A Bedouin beauty of Tunis likes many silver ornaments - great earrings and fibula brooches and jewelled necklaces. Often she wears a large part of her husband's capital, and as his wealth increases so will the number of silver chains, supporting coins or charms, that she fastens to her necklace. Chains may dangle from her brooches as well.
