  • The old Synagogue in Amzrou Morocco

I visited a year and a half ago and it was crumbling. It has now been restored...not too sympathetically, but it will survive a while longer now.

The tiny Jewish silversmithing town is near to Zagora in the south of Morocco..beautiful Ancient and crumbling away.. There is no support to preserve it, so the few that still live there are trying to make restorations such as this themselves to try to keep the income from visiting tourists who want to see the synagogue.
