'Íbrişimli saçlık' (black silk headgear tassels). From southeastern Anatolia, ca. 1900-1925. Worn as part of traditional female headgear by Kurds, Armenians (before WW 1) and (some) Turkish semi-nomadic groups. Attached to the felt hat, and falling down (on the back, and possibly on both shoulders). Made of silk (the tassels), cotton (the braided cords) and featuring a silvery metal cylinder. (Inv.n° saç004 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).

An old photograph (ca. 1920) of an Armenian women, from the K.Maraş region, wearing similar (but larger) headgear tassels.
