Nice Tekke piece Peter!, not seen often!
Beautiful piece, Peter. Was it part of a head decoration?
Dear Erika; Many thanks for your message. I believe that it is part of a head decoration. However, I am not sure. I just got it and did not investigate yet further (I had during my recent trip limited time at my home in France as I am currently renovating my home in Switzerland - a villa, originating from 1780...). However, if you have the book of the Bir Collection, you can find an almost identical piece displayed there.
One of my Afghani friend is visiting his family in Kabul. He promised me to send some photos of very rare items, which can still be found there. The "Chicken" Street in Kabul is apparently full of antique shops... With kind regards. Peter
I would love to go through all the shops in chicken street again, like in the old days. It was just yesterday that some of your photos of the shops you visited in the Middle East brought back memories of Kabul back to me.
Thank you for comments.
