Dear Peter,
I think the chain would hang under the chin. This kind of jewel is called ‘gıdıklık’ in Turkey/Anatolia (= ‘the thing that tickles’ the chin). I wonder if Bulgarians have a specific name for it; I would expect they have. Kind greetings, JM.
