Syrian Bird Necklace

A necklace with four wonderful birds with filigree, granulation, special chain work, and red enamel or paint beneath some of the surfaces. The birds are attached to a "Jerusalem chain" used in Ottoman-influenced areas including Syria and various parts of Kurdistan, and flank a triangle amulet of a type used in Syria and maybe Turkey. The coins are Ottoman with the exception of the coins on the amulet from French Syria. The birds themselves, the triangle, and the chain are intact/original excepting small repairs from me, but the configuration of the necklace may be a rearrangement of old pendants. Very interesting and shows the Ottoman origins of the Yemeni bird necklaces. More photos in the comments.
