  • congratulations jose. this one is Algeria vintage. the region of boghni or azazga

  • Well done. So its Algeria after all! Congratulations.

  • Thank you very much and a special one to Ait for the precise attribution. I am impressed.

  • Quite, the attribution is almost as impressive as the bracelet..........

@Ait, do you really know ALL the jewelers of Algeria? (or is there some stylistic features which would indicate a specific place?).

  • @ chantal

how can i know all the jewelers in Algeria  ?????

do you aske this question to anybody writes that a jewely is from a region or area  ??

  • No,  but you seem to know all the areas (when it comes to Algeria) hence my question........I wasnt thinking so much of the jewelers (who sell) as of the smiths actually making the jewels........

  • I believe that there are pieces where, even if someone does not know what particular regions to attribute them to, the differences among them are obvious or at least more easily recognisable (even to the layman). But when it comes to this kind of enamelled pieces from Algeria though the differences are not so obvious for the layman who then .... turns to Ait's mastery to help him out!!. That is simply great.

And, Ait, I do not know if you Know all smiths in Algeria but you know so well the country and have travelled so extensively those regions that ... I would not take any chances on that!. ;-))

  • jose.

the difference is in the dge and in the dots, some areas has them as usual ( since 100 ths of years ) some areas do them in other way to show the difference.

the general sample is almost the same.

the new ones. it is very difficult to attribut at all. the cities are getting big and there is smiths from all the areas renting workshops and working there.

there is sooo many influences as in the all world

have a look at this link and tell me please if you have seen semilar ones ?
