I think I saw this on eBay a while back. I think that it looks more Indian in shape and subject.
I have never seen one like it so I just call it Chinese as the seller did.....
whatever its origins, it is certainly something special. but I also don't think it's Chinese.
I love the enamel part, the silver is heavy patinated but looks nice as contrast.
I`m with both of you - not Chinese. For me the pendant shape says India. Perhaps the north of India, though that shaped pendant is found in Rajasthani jewellery. How interesting that it`s enamelled. Maybe the silver pendant travelled a distance to where it was enamelled.
Yes, the more I think about it , the more I think this is an arrowhead pendant from Rajasthan with Himachal Pradesh enamelling. They often use brightly coloured enamels there. It`s not like any Rajasthani enamelling that I`ve seen.
I think it`s unusual ..... and the better for that!
