Hi Marcello, look at pinterest and type in my name i think you'll find it interesting for you. This ring is a strange thing and not one that is really understood as it is made with a band that is actually the work and style of that area . So it was not a fragment made from a necklace , then made to a ring like what had been suggested by some one who sees allot of jewelry. What i think is that some one in that area (Azerbaijan ) did this as a one off. if one sees the band it is all done at the same time and or in that style and used like that quite a long time. i got in in London about 20 years ago. AT that point i had only seen one breast plate of the type I have sold two of now.
Dagestan, late 19th early 20th century
Actually these necklaces are known in many books as being from Azerbaijan and on many websites and in many museums documented as that. There are belts and crowns and many other items made in this style . The ring's shank is also original and engraved as such with same designs , and was made as a ring , so it's the only one that anyone has seen like this so far.
such ornaments were in southern Dagestan - have Tabasarans and Lezghins
also wore the Avars from Dagestan living in Azerbaijan
