  • Can anyone help me out with the origin of this? I bought it as Moroccan. The only problem I have with this is that I`m sure I`ve recently seen a maybe identical pendant to the central one here, except that it opened, called a taviz from either India or Afghanistan. Of course that description could have been erroneous.

The silver tests as good and is quite delicately worked on the smaller beads. The "amber" is of a type sometimes described as faturan, obtained by repeated dipping in a molten solution. Rather like candlemaking. The chain looks to have been made for it. At least the beads don`t remove.

    I`d be grateful for comment.

  • Hi Frankie, my guess would be India rather than Morocco.  Lovely necklace!!

  • Looks very Indian to me...definately not from Morocco

  • it is a beautiful necklace, as everyone wrote, not marocco. what looks amber , could be also bakelit

  • Thanks S., M-A and A.O.! I have thought that its` whole aspect looked more Indian than anything else, too.
