Here is the reddish one in open condition:
Well done for having found another one...........really unusual pieces.
@Thanks Chantal and thanks to Frankie Carter, who had seen the second earring on Etsy and told me about it. I suppose the reddish one is silver with copper (it is much heavier than the white one, the white one probably Aluminium). Next is to find two small round glass pieces to repair my Harar pendant......... if it is not snowing too much tomorrow, I will try (to run downtown to a shop that could have something suitable).
Eva, could you wear them all as a necklace somehow - one in the middle and half of the other either side?
Good to see them both together!
@Frankie: yes, that is a good idea........ i might try it out.
There is some very interesting art in Ethiopia. Glad that you show us some nice pieces from there.
@Thanks Chantal, it is because Ethiopia is such a multi-ethnic country. The variety of art is very wide, like in Mali too. I was talking today with my husband and another Malian about the Malian people..... the differences in certain things are very big, although they all feel as Malians. This especially in regards to Polygamy - and habits regarding Polygamy. There are ethnies who live monogam, others are very polygam, and with some even , if the husband is away for longer, the brothers of the husband ,,,,,,,,,, sleeep with the wife. This is only in certain ethnies, but there considered normal. (I am really lucky that my husband is not of one of these ethnies. (e.g. the Sarakollé ).
Didnt know about the Sarakolle!..............Interesting info. Thanks.
They are very kind........ but better not to marry one.
