Absolutely beautiful! It is difficult to find pics of these much less to see them in real life. Are these yours?
Yes, you can see most of These old beads and jewellery in my Website.... www.beadart-austria.com
This is magnificent! I did not know that Senegal produced such jewelry pieces! Congratulations. Peter
An iconic piece.
Senegal is not producing this anymore, was done in 1930/1940 or even earlier. Very typicall for the Saint Louis Region. As far as I known there is (was) only one more piece in almost pristine condition exposed in a private house next to the Maison des Esclaves on Ile de Gorée, Dakar.
Beautiful. Annemarie. Definitely a piece of the jewelers skill and western idea. Looks to me like if a western client gave this design, combining the western fashion done in the traditional file grain skill of a Senegal jeweler. A stunning result. I did the same when living in Ethiopia. Gr. Ingrid.
