old coin pendant

this piece was sourced in Tiznit. The coin dates back to the second half of the 18th century, Carlos III. It has the coat of arms for Castille y Leon. The loop and rosettes are white metal. Based on my research, the hole at the bottom would probably have a twin hole at the top under the soldered loops and rosettes. Coins were sewn into clothes by sailors for safekeeping and to use in times of need, much like the "gold earring" idea. Perhaps this coin was traded in Morocco by traders along the coast.
