  • Nice.

Would love to know more about the yemen export to Egypt if you have got more info!

    Thanx

  • An interesting and lovely jewel, Peter.

I agree with Alaa. It would be interesting to explore such a export-oriented production. Might also explain why some pieces with Epyptian hallmarks are so very similar to Yemeni pieces in design. ( I am thinking for example about my Wadi Dawan anklets and their Egyptian cousins..). Kind regards, Betty

  • Dear Alaa and Betty; Many thanks for your messages. I do not have this piece with me right now but will check it out next time, I am at my home. Last time, I did not have enough time to look into these coins. They are very very special. The writings on them is in French but referring to Egypt. It seems that they were used by the French during their occupation of Egypt. Very interesting. I will let you know for sure. When working, I am collecting and when I am on leave, I am studying the collected pieces. However, I have a bit of a back log in catching up with my purchases... With kind regards. Peter

  • Very interesting necklace can't wait for the rest of the story!
