  • Dear Sami, this is an absolutely GORGEOUS necklace - Congratulations.

Many years ago, I bought necklaces with wooden beads (more simple than yours and without any decoration or inlays but beautifully shaped) in Egypt. I was then told that they are from the Sinai. However, knowing Egyptian sellers, they would tell you anything as long as they are selling the items... This necklace reminds me of some European designs but at the same time, it is very oriental. I could very well imagine this to be Egyptian or it could also be Iraqi but this is only a gut feeling. I herewith attach a few of my wooden beads jewelry. I did not post them until now, as I believe that the wooden beads were not originally used with the attached silver pieces. Nevertheless, I still bought them as I liked the simplicity and at the same time also accuracy of these wooden beads a lot. With kind regards. • Thank you Peter , this is all useful information indeed! I don't think these are wooden beads as they are very solid and more like bone. The seller told me that it comes from a unicorn !am not sure if that's true but I loved the way they are engraved to creat a path for the silver strings . Many thanks again and br
  • likely Ebony wood...but i like the Unicorn description....!!
