A small find from Yemen or Saudia Arabia perhaps. The MTT might be a fake, but it appears to be good silver.
Nice piece Betty, looks not fake to me, to be sure, post please a side foto
Thanks Ait, I was actually just taking a few more photos of other pieces, so here's a view from the side:
Am surprised how good the Portrait is, love it.
Thank you Betty, i see it as not fake. It is as it has too
I have to thank you, Ait!
it is better light today, i could make some fotos
fere some MTT i have and some used in yemen as pendants
A top condition Thaler Betty. What a skillfull work the bells and the hinges. I think it is also one of the first minted. The sign of that is the broche of Maria Theresa,s right shoulder. If I am correct it also is sterling silver, because the ones minted on order of Queen Victoria (England) were 830 or 800/1000 instead of sterling 925/1000.
Beautiful collection of MTTs, Ait and well captured too! I love the necklace in particular...
@ Ingrid: thanks - yes, it's really a nice example. I wore it today on a red silk cord :-)
I don't think it's an old Thaler. I've done a bit of research in the meantime and have come across this useful website when trying to evaluate your Thaler's age and authenticity. Perhaps you know it already:

Hi Betty, what an interesting link (Theresia Thalers), thanks a lot!
