what are they made of? Gold?
Eva ..... Several metals are apparent on the surface of these two mamuli. I am just guessing but they may have been covered in gold but they are absolutely not solid gold. There is silver apparent and maybe also brass? In this respect they are quite unusual in my experience. If they have a brass core then the wear may indicate hundreds of years of use. I showed a brass mamuli earlier that had chicken heads on the free ends and it showed similar extensive wear. I think it may be truly old as well.
Again Timor and I suppose they should be cast silver ones (silver of old Dutch coins).
