The supports can be seen here. They were added to help the piece keep its shape with wear. This is especially important in larger pieces as if the back is too bowed from wear, it will affect the front and would crack and ruin most of the enamel.

    Thank you, I did not see the right picture (backside) at first.

    I have not yet found how to get my pictures in the order I want. It seems this site adds new pictures just in front of the older ones or at randem. So I have to try a little more how to do it.
