Impressive and warm pieces, This is worn front and back I suppose? Or is it s head decoration? A puzzle for me. but love it .
Beautiful piece Peter…..I have some necklaces from Nepal…the big orange glass beads look from there ..unless coral ??? I know beads traveled the world !!!

Absolutely spectacular. These necklaces are always wonderful, and I think this example is extraordinay because of the extra hirz and the giant coral beads. Here is a photo of a woman wearing this type of necklace.
This is remarkably "complete". Rarely is the whole ensemble seen. Even the attachments to the two rings at the front, left and right, are usually missing. But the section for the back/side, almost never comes with the basic triangular structure. Quite some find, Peter!
My goodness Peter, I first though it was you in incognito. What a special way this beauty is worn. So this beauty is worn over their outside kaftan(?) is that usual or just grid. modelled for this picture.?
In your display photo where you had some Syrian and Omani. now it looks as if it is a combination?
Gr. Ingrid.
Dear Ingrid; Well, sometimes I wish that I could disappear in such a robe. It definitely has also its positive sides to it... Yes, they are wearing the jewelry over the kaftan. The Omani jewelry is completely different from the Syrian jewelry, which is much more intricate and refined. The Omani jewelry is bulky and very impressive. The gold plating is usually 9K. I am still trying to get "the Oman Adorned Book", which is featuring fantastic photos of ladies wearing this jewelry. The first time, when I visited Oman, they had a copy of the book for sale and I thought that I could get a copy anytime later. Well, I thought wrong... With kind regards. Peter
Dear Peter,Thank you again for placing this beauty on display. How careful all the pieces have been put together. I love the little pendants which each of them are so tastefully decorated with care. The stringing with all those threads is an art by itself. That way makes it also wearable instead of a thin chain or thread which would cut into the neck when wearing. Gr. Ingrid.
