As a follow-up to Edith and Dayna's discussion, thought I'd post a Libyan fibula. There's a Tripoli hallmark on the knob. Thoughts on the age of this piece? Thanks.
I think Ayis might have a better idea regarding age. This same mark appears in Alberini's book on Libyan jewelry. I think this mark is before Qadaffi, but possibly after the Ottoman left (I think during Ottoman a "tughra" type mark was used.)
Could you post a picture of the hallmarks present on the Pin Preethi?
