This was my Mom's. She wore it on occasion as a bracelet. Is it really a temporal ornament? Where is it from and how old do you think it might be. Thanks
Very similar to the piece that Bianca Maggi posted here about three years ago ~ https://ethnicjewels.ning.com/photo/145 ~ which she dated to the 2nd half of the 19th century. By no means an expert in this region, so regarding the dates, I will leave that up to the professionals :-). There is also another example posted by Linda Pastorino, along with a number of useful comments. By the way, what a wonderful idea your mum had to change this into a bracelet. I am going to see if my (far simpler and more recent version) can also be converted.
Although not as lovely as the one you have here, here is a photo taken by Jean Basancenot showing this type of ornament being worn.
