Are these for ambergris?
Definetely Patricia.
They are called "Anibra" a word that has its root in the ambergris word in arabic "Anbar"
Usually a very posh habit of rich moroccans to furtively dip it in the teapot, before serving tea.
Disappeared a long ago for it is very rare to find ambergris on the moroccan market, the most expensive and dearest natural product in the world.
Fascinating!
On our November trip to Morocco, Sarah located a couple of these for one of the ladies. Very lovely work, nice patina and fairly rare, easy to overlook.
My Husband and I wear one each!
We went on an Ambergris hunt in Morocco when we were there on Honeymoon, it was being offered for around £60 per gram, but was difficult to find.
I love these beautifully engineered pendants!
I know of two others available in Morocco at the moment, but they are difficult to find.
