Antique Ethiopian high silver Jimma bangles. Most of them are small and given as engagement presents, often as young as 9 yrs old. Years later they do get to small and are being cut to fit the adult wrists.

  • Very interesting Ingrid. Thanks for posting these bangles which are similar to those from Libya. It is very interesting that these sometimes are open to fit the adult wrists,  which is not the case in Libya as I think they are only worn as closed bangles . On the other hand the one type that is with rope type style is not common in Libya. The other similarities is the fact that those used in Libya are high silver as well.
