Bracelets or Anklets? ID please

The almost identically engraved bracelets or anklets vary slightly in weight and diameter. One is 61, other other 66 cm inside diameter. Weight 115 and 117grams.They were acquired in Tebessa (about 200 km south of Annaba) in Algeria in the 1970s. They are rather coarsely made (metal mix). I would be interested to know more about their origin and original use.
