Is this an uncommon/rare necklace?

Does anyone know how rare or not these Omani Shubqah necklaces for children are? I have seen a number of adult-sided ones in the souks. The flat diamond-shaped elements on this show the monkey-god Hanuman, and the pink beads look like coral.Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Dear Preethi; It is difficult to find jewelry for children anywhere in the world out of the simple reasons that this type of jewelry was never manufactured in big numbers. Furthermore and most importantly to consider, children are active and playing, hence damaging jewelry quickly when worn. Also, I believe that children jewelry would then be melted and used for brides of the family... In general, this particular type of jewelry can still be found in the souks of Oman, even though real special pieces are getting rare. Children versions are rare. With kind regards. Peter
