  • A very impressive piece and in such great condition. I also love the cut-out decoration "on top" (I lack the proper term) of the cuff.

You do not, by any chance have jewelry contacts within Kazachstan? I might get the chance to travel there later this year... :).  Kind regards, betty

  • Dear Betty; Many thanks for your message. No. I do not know anybody in Kazakhstan. However, I heard that Kazakhstan is a rather country. I hope that you can find some nice jewelry there. Real antique Kazakh jewelry is really rare. By the way, did you know that many Kazakh people are speaking German? For many reason, Stahlin deported all German speaking people (German, Austria and Swiss origins), who lived within the former Soviet Union after migrating there, to Kazakhstan... Their language survived until now. Anyhow, I wish you a great trip - Kasakhstan is on my wish list to visit since long time... With kind regards. Peter
  • Thank you, Peter. If the trip takes place, it will sadly be short.

And yes, you are right, there are still many German speakers (at least those who did not emigrate to Germany in the past 20 years). In fact I know a few Kazakh-Germans in my town. They can tell a lot of fascinating and often also sad stories...

  • Very nice
  • what a beauty!  Even the sides are decorated!  Like Betty, I like particularly the decoration on top 1
