  • nice group!  How much for the group?

  • Hi Linda,

i did not purchase these the price for them all was over £13000 !!

  • Was this a price in Morocco? yikes.. I'm not surprised.  I had the same experience with certain dealers and pieces.  I happen to like this style,  from Ida ou Nadif and also from Ait Ouaouzquit for myself .. I had them and sold them and when I was in Morocco last five years ago I almost purchased an incredible necklace for 4500 $  but it was for myself and didn't think the business would die down or collapse and never went back it was allot but was a museum piece and now I'm sorry I didn't get it. If this is how the prices are now,, it's going to be hard for me to buy this material in future. I don't have clients willing to pay profits on the prices like this unless for gold.

  • It is increasingly difficult to buy great things at realistic prices.

I have been snapping up rare temporals, as There have been a few come onto the market for me in MOrocco in the last few trips

I got them at good prices, to be able to offer them at good prices, but each time it gets more difficult...the pieces such as necklaces which translate well to weraing are all gone...almost nothing in original strung form left.

I think we may be seeing the last of the great pieces in the next 5 years.

    The Amber is all gone

the coral is heading that way too.. silver over 100 yars old is rare and expensive too.

I know of three true treasure houses, but their prices are getting to the levels of these stunning pieces now,

  • anyone know how to build a time machine? :-)

this set is 40 years newer than the ones in the pic, but just as rare now, and in this kind of complete condition almost unheard of..

The two sets of temporals in the expensive selection ( with the biro ! ) both had rearrangements and replaced bits....

These are totally complete and authentic,, they delight me a lot!!!

  • I wonder how many of the old collections I saw within the dealers own are available?  Two dealers I worked with had very good collections who were willing to sell.  I have not been in touch since my business died but the prices were high but the stuff was incredible. I think some of them might be convinced to be more flexible if cash or money was pushed in front of them.  I have not made an attempt due to my circumstances but I would think if one had a goal to buy certain items and had a willingness to invest some money , some things could be acquired.  Not for prices like this which I feel are over priced but for high but descent prices.

  • Yes I have access to dealers private / at home collections.

These are prohibitively expensive for me, and I cannot take guests generally to see them..

but the last gems are hidden there including that wondrous headdress I posted a couple of years ago!  it was on offer for 110,000,000 dh !

  • I remember that headdress you posted. What does 110 mean now.. i have forgotten the euro equivalent .. I had purchased a headdress like that on the trip right before my last one , it was expensive but I don't think the amount you are saying. I think it was maybe around 5,000 dollars or so. It was published in my friends book on his headdress collection which eventually sold to a Parisian collector.

  • It is around 88,000 pounds
