Dear Peter, this is very beautiful with the beadwork and the coins. I always appreciate how you collect the ornaments of humble people in addition to the ornaments of more wealthy people. This is the right way to have a truly representative ethnographic collection. Congratulations!
Dear Lynn; Many thanks for your comments. I just love such pieces. They truly reflect the personality, believes and superstitions of the wearer. Such beads, buttons, stones, wood and shells are used more in rural areas and can also be observed on the jewelries and veils of the Palestinian Bedouin ladies, who live pretty much their entire life in harsh conditions, hence, can and should only be admired. With kind regards. Peter
I also like this piece a lot, and indeed I first thought of Palestine... A great addition to your Bulgaria collection, Peter! Warm regards, Betty
