The reverse of this comb/pin is slightly damaged from the replacement of the pins. What's interesting though is the cross shaped decoration with small circles, usually meant to ward off the evil eye (if I am not mistaken)
This is really Special! I have not realized that yours has this backside! Wonderful, really really Special. I have never seen this on any hairpins backside so far (I do not think that I have seen the reverse side o your hairpin before). Congratulations, this IS great!!!
Hi Betty, just saw this Tigrai hair decoration. What a surprise to see twice another cross hammered in at the back.
And the cross on the top for sure it was a Christian lady who owned this one. Haven't seen that before.
gr. Ingrid.
Thanks for your comment, Ingrid. It's a really nice hair comb. the sides are aslo special. they are done in filigree. I actually wear it occasionally...
That is nice Betty, I love it when ethnic pieces get new life and energie put in.
Dear Betty, I would love to see a picture of the side and front of this comb - have you posted one?
