This lovely belt pocket/purse is a recent lucky find hailing most likely from Zaydiya, but I would be grateful to hear your opinion.It bears two inscriptions, one at the from and one on the lid.

The lid has the "Shahadda", the protestation of Muslim faith, "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messanger."

The front has got half the sentence engraved on the the lid: "LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH": ther eis no god but Allah

Dear Betty; this is a gorgeous piece and yes, I would allocate it to Zaydiya. The tubes of my necklace are all featuring the same type of writings. According to what I know, nowhere else in Yemen was the silver cut out in such a way. Congratulations! Peter

Thank you Peter and Mustafa. I like it a lot and sometimes wear it on a belt, though it was originally an adornment worn on a man's belt I believe. I am still not quite sure what the content might have been. It seems cumbersome to use as a money purse as have seen suggested in some books...
