  • Oh this looks wonderful, is it silver?

  • Absolutely Marie-Ange all silver

  • Gorgeous!!

  • Ayis, wow, I LOVE this!  If you ever consider selling this piece, kindly let me know!  The hamsas are fantastic as well as the small doorway/ luha pendants; what would have been on either side of them?  The carnelians are different and remind me of some Yemeni carnelian beads that I have; same shape.  The mix of tube, square, and triangle seem to have Levantine influence.  It's very interesting how the chain is used like a rope with multiple strands.  Thank you for sharing, I've never seen another piece like this.  And those fibulas.......!

  • I two love the delicate khmasas and the door-shaped pendant, they are so fragile and refined yet full of charachter, especially for a jewelry coming from the countryside, definetely a sign of an early age.

The carnelian are recent add ons, so no wonder they seeem out of place, usually other similar silver pendants will hang from it but also siler capped coral branches similar to that i was looking for in a early post.

You are right, levantine and bedouin influence is apparent, especially the presence of cylindrical pendant which have an oriental flavour. Matter of fact these holder are not to be found in western algeria neither are they present in Morocco, in these places the arab tribes have already lost their oriental origin and they are somewhat deeply" berberized"!!

@HIllary: i am on the edge of selling my entire collection, so will let you know

  • What an amazing an beautiful piece! So much to see. The variation of the fibulas adds interest.

  • Oh Ayis, do you mean that really about selling? What a shame as you gathered such beautiful items over the years, but if you do please keep me informed too!!!

  • what a beauty!

  • Beautiful piece!

  • One of my favorites....
