Traditional festive headgear from Nebiköy (near Tokat city). Style: 1960-1980s. Ethnic group: Alevi Türkmen. The front of the felt cap is adorned with ‘iğne oyası’ (needle lace) with integrated green and red glass pearls, zigzag ribbons, white glass pearls, (Turkish Republic) coins, shells; it is fastened by a chin band, decorated with glass pearls and metal sequins. The headscarf with apple-motif is edged with a ‘pullu oya’ (needle lace with integrated metal sequins). (Kavak Costume Collection-Antwerpen/Belgium).
