  • I have always loved these. What material is this wood or something else. Some plates I have seen are ivory also from differing groups. Great photo also!

  • The plate of the mursi people is made of clay! It is really scary to see, they have to take some teeth out to be able to wear them. There are different theories why they wear them, some they even say they use to do it not to be sold as slaves. The last hundred year it is a sign of beauty and states. But some of the younger generation does not want to do it anymore.
