Very interesting pieces.
The coarse shapes of the five pointed stars remind me of the Ethiopian astrology rings, and the general shape is that of the typical southern Ethiopian pendants that usually show 8 or more "fingers" as I call them. However, if indeed these are from Ethiopia they are very unusual.
These items baffles me as well Alaa. Also to me the stars on the items are like the astrolgie rings from the South of Ethiopia, Jimma and Harrar. The drawings remind me of some cave drawings, and the general shape like the pendants (most probably rings) from Sidamo. One star has been faded, most probably of use but why not the inside of the items. For Betty a mystery so also for me.
Betty and Ingrid have already said all..... Just want to say, I am out of Internet at home at the moment, therefore I cannot add new photos for the time being. Hope the new modems will soon be connected.
These do look like Sidamo pendants (the form and material), while I also must confess, that the engravings are really strange (rare) and special. My guess is that someone had it done especially for him as a protecting piece, the meanings only known to him ...
