  • I have similar which I purchased in Iran many years ago. It could also be Egyptian Zar, the little people figures look like that.
  • If you have the time can you post yours to see how similar they are?  I will dig into some books to find out more about this amulet.
  • I would love to post them here for you but, for some reason, cannot transfer my pics to discussion. If you just go to my pics, they are pretty evident, one is a large round amulet and the other is a bazuband. The both contain what looks like magic squares and strange stick figures.
  • Hi Patti, I was having a similar problem last week caused by Internet explorer 9

I downloaded google chrome to use as my browser, and it now works fine.

  • Hi Patti, I had a look at your amulets and I think this one was part of a bazu band?  it has the same shape.

    Thanks alot!

  • I believe it is too. As to origin, I bought mine in Iran, but the stick figures appear to by Zari. I know there is an essay in bedouinsilver about such amulets and ekenoz sells some zari amulets. Those amulets are from Egypt , though, so I really can say I have no idea as to point of origin for these.
