  • I first saw black coral beads in Marrakesh in 2006. A dealer there had loads of them, all imported from Yemen, where they are used as prayer beads. These do not have any metal inlay, like others that I have.
  • the ones with metal inlay can be seen in "A World of Necklaces" (p177 in the Italian edition)
