This dlawah is suspended from a round fibula (madawar) and is traditionally adorned with scented beads, seed pearls and coral. This example is recently fabricated using real scented beads, real coral and glass "pearls".

  • oh, here is the answer to my question on the picture with the lady. Sorry, I did not start looking from this side.  Very nice, very impressive, must smell wonderfully.

  • I like the dark scented beads, they dont detract from the rest of the metal elements.

  • These are available in the Mahdia souk in several combinations of materials (real and imitation) depending on your price range.  Interestingly, one can even buy these with plastic "amber" beads with no scent!

  • Once again, I really love those scented beads and hope to get some sometime. I just looked again at the photo and discovered the little fish and a hand between the gold coins, they are so sweet!
