  • Nice items! Is one an amuletbox?

  • Yes it is. One side is st George and the other side is st Nicholas. My family is from Crete that's why I collect items from there including daggers, swords and really anything. One of the hardest items to find is the heart shaped chain slider with niello called savat in Greece that long chain was attached to their daggers. In theory as to not loose the silver scabbard.
  • This is GORGEOUS John! It is interesting to see that they are also using the heart with Niello to control the chain. I have seen it as well in Palestinian/Syrian pieces. With kind regards. Peter

  • Yes thank you Peter. I bought the heart in Athens at the manasteraki flea market.
