  • Yes thank you it took me two weeks of oiling with hypodermic needle to remove the blade from rusting in the scabbard. That was one of the reasons I was able to buy it at a reasonable price from auction house in Germany. It was sold and returned and then offered to me.

Most of the enamelled shashkas I have seen for sale were labelled "Kubachi". Is that indeed the only place whether they where made, or were they made in other locations, too? Regards, betty

  • They are not that common of a style and this was probably made between 1900 to 1920s and is hall marked. Definitely in kubachi style but more then likely a Dagestan manufacture.
