This necklace was purchased in Yemen (perhaps in the 1990s, but I don't know for sure). It's silver and very delicate. Could it be some vintage or contemporary Yemeni work made for the Tourist market? Or would you place it elsewhere?
So delicate, Betty. I know that blue stones like this are frequently used in Egyptian jewellery .. and that Egypt has always had very close ties with Yemen. The chain also reminds me of Egyptian gold chains. But others may know better.
Lovely necklace, also I place it more in Egypt bought one sith similar links in Egypt in 1980 about. It was a new piece.

Thank you very much, Thelma and Ingrid - it's quite possible that it is not from Yemen, but somehow travelled there. Egypt sounds quite plausible to me....
