Nubian and Besharin silver pendants

A precious note on the medallion pendant which was meant to copy a maria theresa thaler for those who could not afford it!!! Very interesting to know that in the beginning the maria theresa was the main source for silver to be used as scrap, melt donw and make jewelry....eventually it became a jewelry element directly incorporated into adornment , then it was so popular that it was copied and forged!!!
