  • If you wore earrings regularly through a perforated ear, and gradually stepped up the weight of what you wore, then these would emerge as comparatively light, in the overall ethnic scale of things!! But you'd have to persist, and not immediately wear something too heavy - that would be dangerous!
  • You are right...last week I visited a friend who collects jewelry from India, and she showed me some earrings that instantly made me see I should not be so squeamish about these!! But well, all beginnings are difficult as we say in Dutch!
  • It IS troublesome, I am sure, for a woman from the Netherlands and most western countries, as their traditions are so different, with probably fewer and fewer of them wearing earrings unless they are very light ...  I'll be interested to see what you might manage to achieve, if you tried!!
  • I have my earlobes stretched a bit for wearing tribal earrings but only up to a certain weight....
