Bunad Sølje for the Floan-Bunad.

Sølje, the traditional brooch worn on the Norwegian folk costume, Bunad,contains features that can be traced back to brooches from the Iron Age.This particular piece is a brooch meant for closing the Bunad in the front/neck.This style of brooch is appropriate for the Bunad called Floan. Sometimes the traditional scarf is fastened on the front on this brooch as well. There are codes and rules on the many aspects of wearing the different Bunad. I once got yelled at for making 3 creases in the scarf before fastening them to the brooch. The correct number of creases was apparently 4.
